    Couch Tour

Farm Aid is streaming tomorrow for free, pretty nice lineup for a lazy hazy Saturday: Willie Nelson Neil Young John Mellencamp Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Chris Stapleton Sturgill Simpson Kacey Musgraves Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats Jamey Johnson Margo Price Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real Particle Kid Ian Mellencamp I'm a big fan of Dave and Tim, much moreso than DMB.

Cake webcastin' right now. The singer is ranting a lot in a hilarious way, good times. https://www.livelist.com/shows/cake
  3. I need Trey to perform this piece of music in some capacity, either at one of his orchestra shows or adapted for another setting. Also, play it at my [viking] funeral as I float out into the ether.

What if we use the discarded glow sticks as paper weights or butt plugs after the show so they're multiple use?

    Curveball Festival, Watkins Glen, NY

I haven't gotten my refund either, but I emailed Front Gate Tickets earlier this week and they told me to allow three weeks. I don't know exactly how accurate she was being, or three weeks from what date specifically, but I think it's just a slow process refunding all those cards and keeping track of everything, bookkeeping, etc.

Tom Marshall and his Under The Scales podcast

Yeah that was a fun episode. I didn't even know Scott was in Amfibian. It was cool hearing about his career arc and also the timeline of Amfibian in general.

He's got it as bad as I did when I went through my Clay phase back in the 00's.

    Curveball Festival, Watkins Glen, NY

This has been an interesting few days. Tuesday night my buddy from Charleston calls and asks what I'm doing the rest of the week. I said "nothing, I'm unemployed again." He asked if I wanted to go to Curveball - his girlfriend had bailed and he had a face value wristband for me. I knew I really shouldn't spend the money but I said fuck it, spent the next day buying supplies and packing, then got up at 5am Thursday morning and drove 700 miles to his family's hunting cabin in northeastern PA. We were gonna spend the night there and then make a nice leisurely hop over to Watkins the next day, since we were pretty close by that point. The feeling in the air in the Pennsylvania woods was electric as we got drunk by the fire, talked about the summer tour, our favorite webcast moments, what they might do at the festival, and so on. Everything was coming up Milhouse, until the dubious texts started rolling in. Emotions quickly moved from disbelief, thinking it was a joke, to WTF, to mild depression, then finally landing on "smoke 'em if ya got 'em." You had to laugh at the ridiculousness of driving all that way just to hang out in a forest. We stayed there for about a day and a half until shit got weird with the other campers. It was a mish mash of my friend's relatives at the cabin, young and old, and there was a bunch of family drama that we wanted no part of. The whole point of this trip had originated as an escape from all the drama of the real world. So then another 700 miles back home and another four tanks of gas in my SUV. Steady rain for almost the entire drive, and a couple of biblical-strength thunderstorms going through Virginia and northern Tennessee. Glad it's over, on to the next adventure. So that's my Curveball memoir, soon to be a novella brought to you by Simon and Schuster.

    Phish Summer 2018 Tour

Hah, I actually like that one but it would freak me out too much to have it hanging in my crib.
