Honestly, why do anything? Something to think about.

This is just a hunch - but when you say management "knew about" something, my guess is that they just knew that due to heavy rains and flooding that there may be a boil-water advisory thus causing a major stir with securing water for 40K people. I would imagine the ramifications of that would be evident to literally anyone involved in the inner workings of the festival. It's a pretty common thing with floods so it's not like it was a secret.

I agree. But when people keep buying tickets, what's the motivation?

That's a very tactful and generous response from Phish, IMO. I know it's a real bummer for people, but it isn't life or death. I can't imagine many being upset by how the band is handling the situation. I haven't seen much or any negativity, on the web at least.

    Festival 8 was like 2,200.

Camping could also be a problem. There is a Hilton inside the main terminal which could maybe be a part of a VIP package, but there’s limited camping on site. There is a lot of space in terminal 1 that could potentially be utilized as cot space though. I bet they could make it work.

Few hours maybe. We got there pretty early though. A friend has a family cabin in Millinocket, so we stayed there right before the fest.

O'Hare is an active airport with literally thousands of flights per day. Don't think that would work out very well.

Limestone was the best place. You guys are soft.

Clifford Ball never gets old. Trey's fluidity is pretty staggering there.

No, those outdoor venues are great, obviously. But I wouldn't call them distracting. The Gorge is pretty remote. Red Rocks is fairly secluded (not in the middle of a city). Really I'm talking about vacation spots being the nice settings with lots of things to do (i.e., distractions). I'm talking like Vegas, Miami, the resort shows. Those kinda places typically end up in a very average musical experience, is all I'm saying. But as I said before, the Phish experience these days is quite a bit different. It's not about driving 12 hours to some mediocre town to see Phish blow your head off in a crumbling arena. It's about what craft cocktails they have at the bar, and that you can walk or Uber to the arena from the hotel. If the music is passable then life is good. And I totally get it. But it used to be about the music, man.

I think that Phish typically becomes a pretty benign musical experience the nicer, or more distracting, the setting.

Miami is not a great place for a pure Phish experience, IMO. But we're in an era where seeing the band is basically the background music for your vacation. So I get it. Everything's ruined anyway.
