I think it's shows they're unafraid of re-thinking the traditional tour, and that's a good thing! I don't know what that means - more residencies, or ???? But, the success of this (I'm assuming it's a financial success) should embolden them to do more untraditional shows & tours.
I wonder how the live stream revenue is working out. If it's becoming significant, maybe they'll do a "Live from the Barn" series or something where they stream a "show" from the studio.
Obviously they're having fun and it's translating into good music. That should be their driver - don't get bored, don't get in a rut, do new things. Keep playing as long as they enjoy playing.
