Rolled down to Levitate with Preston and met up with a nice crew for pre and post party. Had a few beers early and 2 more in the venue - well planned intake against the heat and all the walking required at a 3 stage Fest. We went out of our old balls way to lock down dead center aisle position 20 row back or so for TAB + Ray. Tiring to hold down that type of busy up close space at this age but this time was worth it. Watched with Preston, and some of you know Tom and Joe. Ran into our very own Outtacontrolsmiler Julie for most of show. Brought back 15 year old show going memories with these people for sure. Verdict: Trey 100% machine gunned our faces. This seems like a special tour, especially with all the Ray stuff that went down and him feeling good enough to play (and he's sounding awesome). See it if you enjoyed the old school tab trio sound and that insane shredding from 99 tab tour and want to hear it beefed up on steroids. Or if you just like to have your face ripped off.

Can't get anything past this dude. In point of fact, Tahoe is home to no giant serpents or hovering islands. I checked snopes and shit.

Sweet, they opened up some more spots for the race. I'm in!

Went to the show in Charlottesville last week. Hotter than hell but a great show. I think this band might just own the rights to Camel Walk now. Trey’s voice sounded really great. I don’t know if he’s been working with a coach, but it was smooth all night, particularly during the acoustic songs in the encore.

Gorge hood, god that was awesome. One of my top 3 gorge moments. No lights, all stars, cool breeze, perfect night.

i never have phish dreams but i had one last night. they were playing providence park here in portland, home of the Timbers. they opened with PYITE, played birds in the first set and there was a trey narration with a rotation jam in set 2. edit: remembering more abstract of the dream, there was a segment : steve (?) -> rotation jam -> clerks (the movie?) .. bizarre.

A few awesome shows from the mid-90s fell on 7/16 and I thought I may as well give them a shout-out today: 1.) https://phish.in/1994-07-16/run-like-an-antelope 7/16/94 Sugarbush. The 2nd set started with a totally out of this world Antelope>Catapult>Antelope. One of the best ever and just the funkiest slinkiest Catapults too. Bonus Fishman inappropriate comment remark. 2.) https://phish.in/1993-07-16/harry-hood 7/16/93 Second show of the 93 summer tour. The Mann Center show is really spectacular and was a wake-up call to the fans that the band was on fire. The Hood is worth a listen - just perfect and a SBD too.

They were so dialed in during fall>winter 95. Probably around 80 hours of live playing during that tour, and I bet they were practicing as well. Fucking hot shit.

I guess I've overlooked early fall 95, but I didn't realize Bela sat in on a show on this tour. He contributed to a nice, albiet slowly paced Slave: https://phish.in/1995-11-29/slave-to-the-traffic-light Have a listen and see what you think!

So this is coming out: That’s cool and all, but man, spending a fortune on vinyl reissues of stuff I already have just isn’t a priority for me.

I've been digging this guy's podcast. 32 episodes (so far) of really great but maybe overlooked shows, played in full. Short but enjoyable banter from the host before and after. Appropriately dorky name. Fee's Cavern.

Here's a particularly evil Stash for your Tuesday listening: https://phish.in/1994-05-19/stash There's a part in here that mimics the wildness of the Tweezer on ALO - see if you can recognize the part!
