    Helping Friendly Podcast

https://www.osirispod.com So somewhat recently, the "Under The Scales" podcast was combined with a bunch of other podcasts into an (ironically named) entity called the "Osiris Podcast Network." The "Helping Friendly Podcast" is a part of this group (which is in partnership with Relix.) In any event, they're having me on their show to talk about the remastered Phish shows that have been released recently. We're recording it Thursday night. Is anyone familiar with this podcast? Should be cool... I have no idea how the whole thing is going to work, or what medium will be used to have the discussion remotely.

    Just Jams

Hey everyone, just joined tonight and look forward to checking out this forum. Thanks for sharing the site and glad to see you're using the filters to customize your experience. If you include the TAB stuff from 2002-03 under the Bands filter it ends up being over 3 solid weeks of nothing but improv so you can always find something new. The archive has a bunch of playlists with filters already preset for you, broken down by the theme of the playlist. The Playlist filter has a few themed playlists such as Bliss, Hose, Dark/Evil, Ambient, Festivals etc. plus our Top 25 series where we pick our top jams from a select year into a playlist if you want all killer, no filler. Thanks again for sharing and look forward to contributing here. Cheers!

If there's not a Hampton Inn across from the venue, I feel like that's a real missed opportunity.

These "just jam" type mixes are a bit ubiquitious at this point. That said, here's 138 minutes of cow funk.

So this Trey Trio Tour kicks off tonight.....pretty sweet. I’d love to be catching one of these shows but no dice. Pretty cool it’s been 20 yrs to the day since this and where it all kinda began......and just days after the Island Tour went down. Trey Anastasio | Fri Apr 17th, 1998 |Higher Ground | Winooski, VT Set 1: First Tube1, Sand1, Mozambique1, Mr. Meat Man, Naturally To Blame > Wighat, Silicone Fairy1, Last Tube1 > Higher Ground Set 2: Tore Up, Magilla, Sunny, Stir It Up, Crossroads, Come On (Part One), Soul Power> Pass the Peas, Drums This performance included costumed dancers, theatrics that included people being hoisted by cables, artists displaying various props (including Mike Gordon placing cactus props on stage), and innovative lighting that featured large fluorescent tubes. The second set was a looser jam session and included guest appearances from Dave Grippo on saxophones, James Harvey on trombone, Bobby Hackney on vocals, and Fish on drums. This show marked the debut of First Tube, Sand, Mozambique, and Last Tube. While not billed as a Trey Anastasio performance, with Russ and Tony it represents the public debut of the core TAB touring ensemble. http://www.jamstreams.net/trey/1998/1998-04-17

I am! I listen to them whenever I can, usually on the treadmill. That’s so cool that’s you’ll have the opportunity to talk about this stuff with fairly knowledgeable and definitely passionate fans. You’re basically living my dream lol.

I am almost positive I stayed at a days inn in 2003. Here I am, leaving 1/3/2003. Weird that I was wearing a Dartmouth shirt and I now work here.

Standard fare for Spring '94? A well executed, quick Landlady opener brings the first set up to the frenzied pace that SOAM closes with. I think I finally found SOAMs I enjoy and they were all played in '94. Between Landlady and SOAM is the consistency you'd expect out of '94 shows. Tight versions of DWD, Tela, and Poor Heart with an interesting segue in Fee and build to Foam. The Runaway Jim is the show highlight for me. Trey and Fish are feral on this thing. Overall, a solid set with dream song selection, flow and ebb. Unfortunately the two acoustic songs in the middle of set I are nearly inaudible from the sbd. Set 2 Antelope gets dirty and playful like any good '94 Antelope with a few Layla teases sprinkled around the opening section. Divided Sky is played with a lot of gusto and I found myself revisiting it a few times after listening through the show. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm enamored with Trey's playing on this Divided before the peak. Something so pleasing about that '94 tone and playing. Again, tight versions of great song selection and placement fill out the rest of the set with Coil, Curtain, Sample. Strong... maybe unremarkable by '94 standards, encores. http://phish.in/1994-04-25

    4/8/90 & 4/8/92 Released!

Anyone interested in these shows should definitely check out the podcast. I really enjoyed all the technical stuff, but for those who might not, at least fast forward to about the 50min mark to listen to the before and after comparisons. It's pretty amazing. Thanks again @Jeff Goldberg for all the work. Loving this 1990 show.
