Yes, and no. We were bad.

Here is the full story.

On Monday the site was suspended by our host, IPS, due to content. The content in question was specific to the "Pee Games" thread, a video posted of a guy pissing over his shoulder. IPS saw it as a violation of their rules, and I can understand why (it also directed a number of porn bots to the site). I had to talk to a customer service rep. on the phone, agree to delete the thread/post, and keep things that fall under a hard "R" off the site.

It goes to show that what we post can shut this down, I already have one strike, I don't want to see any more. It also speaks to why I and the moderators stress quality posts without appealing to base humor. Sure, Pee Games could be funny to share with a buddy, but is not appropriate in a public forum such as this.

And in all fairness to whomever posted that, sure, it seemed low brow, but definitely didn't seem like it was as bad as a titty shot or any kind of frontal nudity. I'm not trying to be contrarian, I'm just trying to get a better sense of "right" and "wrong" so that I'm not on the wrong side of things. And obviously no one wants to get the site shut down, so I'm just trying to clarify.


I'm sure someone will say to just play it safe and not post anything that's close, but again, where's the line? Would you, Damon, have considered pee videos to be over the line?

I thought the pee video was over the line after viewing it, yes (I didn't open the thread until we got the suspension). I personally think it's the kind of thing most on this site don't want to see in a thread. I know I don't have any inclination to see a video of anyone pissing.

Language is fine, it sounded like IPS's problem was that it was a linked youtube video (which opens up many cans of worms, back linking, bots, etc). They do scans of their forums for illicit content and that video was flagged.

While not as bad as a "titty shot" or frontal nudity, those aren't allowed either. I'm strongly considering closing the Lovely Ladies thread as well, it's too easy for it to cross the line.

Also, as previously noted, the inability to add multiple people to a pm in this version of the board software is not a problem that is really fixable on this end.
