Sorry for starting the Chris Pine business. I didn't read that closely at all. Apparently I just saw "the guy who played" and "Kirk in the new Star Trek will be playing Thor."

So it's this guy...

Eh, maybe a little better call for Thor I guess, but still way too small. Dude better get his ass to the gym.*

*It should be noted that I'm only talking about muscle mass here. Dude is clearly in damn good shape. I think I can speak for most of us dudes when I say that I wish my torso looked like that. However, Thor is pretty damn buff. I mean, look at the dude...

Actually when I saw Star Trek I thought the same guy played Kirk and George. They look similar. I had no idea they were two different people until I read the Thor article.

They should've picked [insert random Spartan from 300] to play Thor.
"'Is it life?' he answered. 'I would rather be without it,' he said, 'for there is a queer small utility in it. You cannot eat it or drink it or smoke it in your pipe, it does not keep the rain out and it is a poor armful in the dark if you strip it and take it to bed with you after a night of porter when you are shivering with the red passion. It is a great mistake and a thing better done without, like bed-jars and foreign bacon.'"

The Incredible Hulk was pretty good. Iron Man was really good. Wolverine was an epic pile of shit.

So I give this one a coin toss. We'll see. I was never much into Thor myself.

Well, there's a reason for that, if I'm not mistaken. I could be off the mark here but I think Marvel sold the rights to X-Men to Universal or FOX or whoever. So Hollywood is in charge of that franchise, so they Hollywood it up and the results are, well, epic pile of shit.

Marvel Studios had full control over Incredible Hulk and Iron Man. I think Thor has a good chance to be good, and apparently marvel feels its necessary to do with the Iron Man Sequel, Captain America, and Avengers movies.

My guess would be Odin and Loki, respectively. At least, that's how I'd cast it.

Yeah, most likely. Not sure it is mentioned in the thread but Kenneth Branagh is directing. He is not a shit director by any stretch, and could be the perfect fit for this type of material. Then again, I'm a sucker for his Hamlet.

Looks like Law and DeNiro are two of "The Warriors Three".

Loki is cast, a relative unknown named Tom Hiddleston. He is also cast in The Avengers.

Meh.

Warriors Three?

Weren't they, at best, a minor storyline in the Thor comic? This is fucking De Niro we're talking about here.

Then again, maybe they do some bad ass motherfucker stuff. I could dig that.

These press photos have me worried about this project. Anybody else think they all look a little to much like Ozymanidias from the Watchmen movie? Or even worse, Robin from Batman and Robin.

Maybe it's just dawning on me that this character will be very hard to pull of without being cheesy.
