I really like this one!

The tree poking out from the darkness at the bottom is a bit distracting - I like the composition in the first one more. But the atmosphere is great! Nothing like a tripod to help your low light shots. Which one did you get?

I used a busted old tripod that I got from my dad. It's been around since the 1970's, and the camera plate doesn't stay level unless you're reaaaaaaaaaaal careful with it. One of the legs is real sketchy too unless you have it lowered the whole way down. I like using old, half broken equipment. It adds an element of surprise to whatever you're doing. I have an old 35mm Ricoh from my father as well...shot about 3 rolls of film on it years ago and still haven't developed it yet.

The skink in the above shot was only about 3-4 inches long. I was happy he stayed still long enough for me to snap his pic. That bright blue tail is so cool. I took a bunch of sunset pics that day. I might post a few more later when I get home.

Some say old school, some say cheap. :ninja: A good DSLR is pretty pricey to me, especially if the cameras I already have work just fine. Ya know? One of these days I'll eventually upgrade. I still really like medium and large format cameras though, just cause I think they're fun.
I saw a Canon AE-1 body the other day for like $70. It looked like it had never been used.

For my mom's recent 55th birthday, my sister and I took her out to Stone Mountain Vineyards in VA (I discussed it a bit here - thanks to everyone for the help!). The place was incredible. See if this will work.. it's my yahoo album. It should be public...
